Speech-Language Pathologist -Jeanne ColemanJeanne Coleman holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association and a Speech Language Pathology license for the state of Texas. She completed her Masters of Arts degree in Communication Sciences at University of Houston. Jeanne moved to Texas after completing her Bachelor of Science degree in Audiology and Speech Sciences at Purdue University. She served as a speech-language pathologist in Houston ISD, Alief ISD, and Katy ISD. As the Instructional Officer of Speech, Language and Preschool Programs for Children with Disabilities in Katy ISD, she was the administrator/supervisor for the district itinerant and campus based speech-language pathologists, the special education preschool assessment team, and the speech-language assessment teams, including the bilingual team. Previously, she also supervised the following Katy ISD special education programs: Occupational and Physical Therapy, Adapted Physical Education, Services for the Visually Impaired, Private School Services and the Assistive Technology Team. After retiring from public school service, Jeanne has spent two years working in the private sector providing direct speech language therapy services. She draws on her years of experience in public schools to focus on improving communication skills which are functional and practical for a client’s home, school, social, and future work environment. Tiny successes are celebrated each session and Jeanne draws joy from the interaction with her clients. She believes the focus should be on the client’s overall communication skills and ability to share his/her thoughts and ideas with others. Every client has value and worth and Jeanne strives to maximize each person’s communication abilities.
